A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place

The damned rope and handle is hanging right where it has been hanging the entire off season. I suck.

At Tronix in Barnegat cheating on Kevin. Despite telling him not to, this guy climbed right in the boat with his gritty sandy sneakers on before I could get the drop cloths down.

Don't you just love packages?

I do I do. The black vest is Michele's and was her Xmas present 2010, well she obviously got pregnant and couldn't use it so she is excited.

I bought a new vest for myself and obviously needed one for Liv, so we are ready to rock! Oh and I got a free Exile sticker from my purchase a few weeks ago.

Beer Trials - Monsteiner, Stein Bock

Monsteiner Stein Bock!

This was a GREAT BEER!!!
It had body, head, flavor, color. It was hoppy in taste, but still finished clean with a light hoppy aftertaste. My favorite of the beer trials for sure. you could drink this all year around, but especially after a day on the water, on the slopes, or at the company Christmas party! I'll admit that the name is a little Jewish (no offense) but they really have something good going on here!

I will totally be looking for this in the states!

C U all soon - KG

Beer Trials - Monsteiner, Mungga

This was a Good beer.
Crisp, clean, good head, but not in the way. Light in fact. Ale-like in body but not to hoppy in taste (not a bad thing). It had really good balance. A good Fall weather beer! I'd have this again for sure.

Beer Trials - Duff Beer

One word...Budweiser! And that is putting it in a complementary state. This was pretty bad. The kind of bad where you think that this is a month past expiration, has been sitting in the bed of Larry the Cable Guys pickup truck in the middle of a Texas summer bad! The head alone took 5min to simmer down. Smelled of elderberry's and left a dog-piss aftertaste! So Yea, I highly recommend this beer!!!

Beer Trials - Sudwerk

This was a good Golden Ale. Crisp, light and didn't leave a sour aftertaste. Smelled good too, like an ale should smell. I would have this again. Nothing bad to say.

Last Night!!!

Last night in Zurich! I had debated walking around the city again, but I gotta pack and finish up some work. Gonna chill in the room, finish work, surf the net and smoke cigars! Yeeeehaaaaaa

Anyone want to guess what this is???

Needless to say I DID try this. It's a clenshing experience! The nice finish was the warm air drier that is also built in to the.....device! Full experience people, full experience! -KG

Today is the equivalent of Labor Day in the US. What better day to be open than that! Celebrate the fruits of your labor by having a cigar. Schenanigans I tell you. Oh well, the scenery is awesome and just saw an old school Mastercraft and Natique in a boat house. Awesome.

Zurich train map

The detail on this thing is sick. Today is a national holiday, so that spells "Day Off" for KG. Gonna do some more sight seeing around the south part of Zurich. ...and yea a cigar

Burn & Smoke

Throwing back a Gurkha (thanks to whoever gifted this) and smoking some chx breast!

Beer Trials - Castegna

Here's the first of a few Swiss beers I intended on sampling this week. It promising on the outside. A little Swiss family on the label, green bottle, and even a angled label at the top(ohooooo). But right from the start it was quickly turning into a disaster. It had a twist off cap that I had to pop off with an opener. Not even the Hulk could have gotten this thing off by hand. Then the smell. It smelled skunked as soon as it went psssssss! Now I don't normally care about that, sometimes it's the normal smell of the beer. So because of this I decided to pour it into a glass and let it air. Sometimes alcohols need that air to release the flavors...but what do I know. So after watching the head(foam) settle I sniffed again and, yup, smelled like dung. Cow dung, dog dung, you name it, it smelled like day-old road kill! Whatever I am here and we are going to sample this.
The first sip was light, just to wet my whistle. Not bad. So on to a bigger gulp. Still not bad. Good flavor, complex, but not to crazy like a micro-brew. A few more sips and we were on. This was ok, not fantastic, but not bad either (glad I stuck with it). Sip after sip though I cound't help be be reminded of something. It was like I had drank this beer before...but I coudn't place it. Oh well, a few more sips later and then it hit me; this taste JUST LIKE Corona Extra! Holy smokes, I was drinking Corona with a different bottle and label.   I was a little let down, but then again, for a $2 bottle of booze I really didn't know what to expect.

So there you have it folks. This is what the Swiss version of Corona Extra looks like, and I am pretty sure you know how it tastes. -KG
